First Update
‘The Soil We Live of’ Residence sponsored by Group Global 3000, Kunst-Stoffe Berlin and the Akademie für Suffizienz
It has been a wonderful first week at the Akademie für Suffizienz with the other two resident artists Irene Hoppenberg und Matthias Fritsch. The weather has been extremely hot, which is ideal for my project as this speeds up the drying time.
The first 77 bio plastic and sand casts are finished and are drying in the barn. A further 88 have to be done to complete the work. I am glad that I only have to finish 3 more sets of legs as these were the most time intensive and complicated parts of the organisms I had to cast.
I am looking forward to install the bio-plastic casts on-site and film these for the exhibition at the Project Room Group Global 3000 on 24 August 2018. Perhaps I will install a system that will document the decomposition of the installation on site or have a live feed once in a while.

Here are some photos of the drying organisms finished to date and below these are some photos of the Akademie für Suffizienz. The separating toilet is something I have always wanted to experience. Takes some getting used to but is a wonderful concept. No water needed.
Erstes Update
“Die Erde von der Wir Leben” Residence gesponsert von Group Global 3000, Kunst-Stoffe Berlin und der Akademie für Suffizienz
Es war eine wunderbare erste Woche in der Akademie für Suffizienz mit den beiden anderen Künstlern, Irene Hoppenberg und Matthias Fritsch. Das Wetter war extrem heiß, was ideal für mein Projekt ist, da dies die Trocknungszeit beschleunigt.
Die ersten 77 Bio-Plastik- und Sandabgüsse sind fertig und trocknen im Stall. Weitere 88 müssen erledigt werden, um die Arbeit abzuschließen. Ich bin froh, dass ich nur 3 weitere Sätze von Beinen fertigstellen muss, da dies die zeitintensivsten und kompliziertesten Teile der Organismen waren, die ich giessen musste.
Ich freue mich darauf, die Bioplastik-Gussteile vor Ort zu installieren und für die Ausstellung in der Project Room Group Global 3000 am 24. August 2018 zu filmen. Vielleicht werde ich ein System installieren, das den Abbau der Anlage vor Ort dokumentieren wird oder haben soll ein Live-Feed hin und wieder.

Die Trenntoilette wollte ich schon immer erleben. Es ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber es ist ein wunderbares Konzept. Kein Wasser benötigt.
